Lucknow Farmers Market and TreeTake celebrate eco-conscious educators

To mark Teachers' Day, Lucknow Farmers Market and TreeTake came together at the Sustainable September event to felicitate nine exceptional educators from prominent institutions. These individuals are breaking traditional boundaries by embedding sustainability, circular economy principles, and biodiversity conservation into day-to-day learning, ensuring that children grow up to be responsible guardians of the planet.

I. Abhay Pandey (Educator, Lumina Terra School): Spearheaded the development of student-designed models like the Lumina Agro Bot and solar fountains to ground renewable energy concepts through hands-on technology.

II. Kaushal Sharma (Teacher & Coordinator, Army Public School, LBS Marg, Lucknow): Established a dedicated school Herb Garden and regular tree plantation drives to convert environmental theory into an active, experiential practice.

III. Ramsha Siddiqui (Primary Teacher, CMS School, Gomti Nagar Extension): Created highly structured weekly resource awareness campaigns, teaching young students basic waste segregation and vehicle reduction habits.

IV. Surendra Singh Dhami (Vice Principal, Army Public School, Lucknow): Led the school's Eco Club to win the Governor’s Award ten times in the State Garden Competition and mentored a state-level gold-medal-winning Smart Drip Irrigation model.

V. Bhupendra Singh (Principal, Navyug Radiance School, Lucknow): Dedicated over four decades to educational leadership, integrating the spirit of selfless service into training setups and empowering rural girls through education.

VI. Sujeet Jha (Teacher & Coordinator, CMS School, Chowk): Founded the student-led "Cleanness Tribe" to take localised sanitation and plastic reduction drives directly into the heritage lanes of Ghanta Ghar Chowk.

VII. Tulika Dhaoon Kapoor (Founder & Director, Aryashree Shiksha Samiti): Extended the classroom directly to underserved sectors by establishing grassroots literacy drives and vocational training models for women.

VIII. Jyoti Dewan (Teacher & Mentor): Nurtured green entrepreneurship by mentoring over 10,000 students and supporting over 100 sustainable startup ventures that balance commercial viability with conservation.

IX. Surbhi Dua (Principal, Bal Bharati School, Hazratganj, Lucknow): Championed a fully integrated inclusive education system, ensuring underprivileged students and children with severe disabilities study alongside their peers.

"True education is the foundation of any lasting ecological movement. By honouring these dedicated teachers, we are investing in the green minds that will protect our soil, food systems, and local heritage for generations to come." — Jyotsna Kaur Habibullah, Founder, Lucknow Farmers Market

"A school should not be an isolated concrete box; it must function as a living learning ecosystem. These educators have proved that when you teach a child to care for a single tree, you build a conscious citizen who respects the entire planet." — Saumya Misra, Editor, TreeTake Magazine
