Parenting A Pet

Animal lover Nandita Saigal’s journey has been from loving to rescuing & rehoming animals

Since I was a child, I have always felt an innate connection with animals of all kinds. From dogs to horses, their presence in my life has been a constant source of joy and comfort. They have bestowed upon me an unconditional love that knows no boundaries of species, and it is this love that has motivated me to become a pet parent.

Throughout my journey as a pet parent, I have made a conscious choice to rescue animals rather than buy them. To me, a family member cannot be purchased; they are meant to be embraced and nurtured. Each one of my beloved pets has been rescued, and through their presence, they have taught me the true meaning of resilience, for which I am eternally grateful. Rescue animals, in all their simplicity, remind us of what truly matters in life. All they ask for is love, a safe haven to call home, access to medical care, security, and nourishing sustenance. With tender loving care and patience, we witness these animals, who have endured traumatic pasts, find it within them to forgive, heal and move forward. Their transformation into completely different personalities is unlike anything I have ever witnessed in animals who have not experienced similar hardships.

As pet parents of adopted animals, we are privileged to learn new meanings of life on a daily basis. Their presence in our lives is an invaluable gift, one that cannot be replicated elsewhere. The lessons they teach us are profound and indelible. They remind us of the power of compassion, the beauty of resilience, and the strength of the human-animal bond. What sets rescue animals apart from others is their extraordinary capacity for gratitude and love. They have known suffering, neglect, and abandonment, yet when they find their forever homes, their hearts overflow with appreciation. Their gratitude for even the smallest gestures of kindness is humbling and serves as a poignant reminder of the impact we can have on their lives.

Rescue animals possess a unique ability to fill our lives with unconditional love. They do not judge us for our flaws or imperfections; instead, they accept us wholeheartedly. Their love is pure, unwavering, and unending. It has the power to heal our own wounds and mend the broken parts of our souls. In a world that often lacks unconditional acceptance, rescue animals become beacons of light, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of compassion, empathy, and the true meaning of love. These animals, with their simple existence, radiate a special kind of magic. They teach us to appreciate the beauty in simplicity, to find joy in the present moment, and to cherish the bonds we share. Their unwavering loyalty and devotion are constants in a world that is ever-changing. They offer solace and comfort in times of distress, and their presence brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to our lives.

In the end, rescue animals are not just special; they are extraordinary. Their capacity for forgiveness, gratitude, and love is unparalleled. They touch our hearts in ways that cannot be adequately expressed in words. Through their resilience and unwavering spirits, they inspire us to be better human beings and to embrace the profound connections we share with them. In their presence, we find solace, joy, and a love that transcends all boundaries.
